Wine of the Week: Novecento 23 Appasimento 6-Pack
ON THE TASTING TABLE THIS WEEK at the risk of sounding pretty basic, we decided to look at some Autumnal numbers this week. Top of the log was Domus Vini Novecento 23 Appasimento is made from the key varieties of Valpolicella, Corvina and Molinara, with a squeeze of Merlot to boot. This is a big wine that you could walk across the top of, Valpolicella is not known for its subtlety! Big fruit, tannin, alcohol and body - this is the ideal bedfellow for the slow cooked dished that will come thick and fast.
WHY BUY? This is an Apassimento wine, utilising dried grapes to really give huge depth and concentration. It is like a Baby Amarone, with great body, length and power. We know that this is a fave for a lot of WineStationers so we have gone extra hard on the price, €90 IN THE 6-PACK IS OVER 30% OFF! Back the truck up for this one!
