Cahors
Cahors is ground zero for Malbec, known regionally as Cot. Traditionally unapproachable and harsh in youth (formerly known as the black wines of Cahors), the popularisation of Argentinan Malbec has forced/helped Cahors to modernise and they are now making some of the most compelling modern wines in all of France.

Mas del Perie Les Escures
Mabec, concrete, exceptional purity. Between the modern Malbecs of Fabien Jouves and Valerie Courreges, Cahors might be the most exciting region in France.

Tu Vin Aux Soirees! Fabien Jouves
Another wonder blend from Cahors' badass wine maker, Fabien Jouves. The name of this one is some sort of clever pun on you are no longer welcome at this party.

Fabien Jouves 'Nectar des Dieux' ONE LITRE
The label looks like a terrible acid trip (one imagines of course) and you can't even make out the name on the label. Delicious though.

Fabien Jouves 'a Table'
I don't remember ever knowingly trying a Malbec, Tannat, Merlot blend still wine, never mind a Rose. Unfiltered and bonkers.
