Prosecco
Look, Prosecco sometimes gets a bad rap because of the plethora of mass-produced bottles out there, but but f*%k it - it's fizzy and fun.
Made from the Glera grape in the famous region of origin Conegliano Valdobbiadene, where family-owned wineries cultivate hillside vineyards on steep slopes, high quality Prosecco is a celebration in a glass.
Unlike Champagne's traditional method, Prosecco's secondary fermentation happens in stainless steel tanks, creating a fresh, approachable style. This method preserves the delicate perlage (those fine bubbles) and glorious fruit flavours.
You'll find two main styles here:
• Prosecco Frizzante: Gentle bubbles, a great bottle of fizz for casual sipping
• Prosecco Spumante: Fuller sparkle, ideal for celebrations and dinner party drinks
Rory's Top Prosecco Picks:
⭐ VINI STOCCO PROSECCO ROSE NV: A playful Prosecco that brings together the best of both worlds - classic Prosecco brightness with a beautiful pink hue. The delicate perlage carries aromas of fresh berries and cream.
⭐ VINI STOCCO PROSECCO SPUMANTE EXTRA DRY NV: A dry Prosecco Spumante that showcases the grape variety beautifully, with characteristic apple notes and a refined bubble concentration. From one of our favourite Italian wineries.
⭐VINI STOCCO VENTIDUE LUSTRI: Not actually a Prosecco as it is made in the Champenopois method and with the ultra rare (for the region?) Pinot Blanc grape. This is a once off Cuvee. Heritage style to celebrate 110 years of the Stocco family making wine, heavier, more structured style of bubbles - it is epic and delicious.
