Champagne, North of Paris is a marginal region climatically as grapes are only just able to ripen. Champagne is generally made from up to a number of base wines vinified from Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, with a secondary fermentation happening after bottling. Grower Champagne, is Champagne made with estate grown fruit, it is a smaller boutique product.
