The North has the famous expressions of Barolo, Barbaresco and Valpolicella Amarone (as well as Prosecco and a galaxy of other grapes and styles). Tuscany is Sangiovese territory & boasts Chianti Classico and Brunello while the South, particularly Sicily is growing in stature and importance.
