Gabriele Scaglione / Italy
The reds are all about Nebbiolo, starting with his Langhe Nebbiolo. Langhe Rosso adds Barbera and Nebbiolo with some extra elevage in oak for richness. The twin towers are Barbareasco and Barolo. His Barbaresco is from Treiso, an area famed for it's elegant and stylish Barbaresco, whiles his Barolo is a beautifully fragrant Barolo from La Morra.
M.C. 36 Alta Langa DOCG (2019) is an incredible sparkling wine made from Chardonnay & Pinot Nero, the Italian iteration of Pinot Noir. Recent recipient of gushing reviews from Wine Enthusiast, this is a gorgeous wine, which has most Champagnes as bang to rights. Ellis (2012) is named after his dog (pictured on the label). It is Arneis blended with Chardonnay for extra richness and texture, with a similar feel to a Condieu.
