Carignan
Pronounced (kah-ree-nan) gives tannin and acid to blends, previously was thought to lack fruit and colour and was rarely used on its own. Thanks to climate change, this is one of a group of cultivars that will grow in importance. Grown mostly in France and Spain and is frequently used in Provence Rose with a special expression in Priorat.
