Wine of the Week: Nicolas Idiart Muscadet Sur Lie

€132,00 €92,00

The first wine of the week of the new year! So, it may be January, it may be Winter, but I for one am expecting to see the first bit of brightness at 5.30pm soon, and then am looking forward to it growing into our national conversation point of there being a grand stretch out there!

Accordingly, we looked at a beautiful, energetic, racy, dry, bright white wine: Nicholas Idiart Musacdet. Why don’t we drink more Muscadet? This ancient Loire Valley style of white is made from Melon de Bourgogne and hails from the Western Loire city of Nantes. It is just AWESOME with oysters and mussels.

In our opinion the best Muscadet has a little bit of Sur-Lie (this will be visible on the label) which means it’s been aged a little bit on its lees to add just a touch of depth and complexity without sacrificing its energy and buzzy acidity.

In order to rejuvenate this terrific expression we have a banging 6-Pack price, 30% off the shelf, €92 in the 6-Pack. This is a stellar wine to have on hand.
