This is killer. There's nothing like a high quality half bottle. This is a great solution when there's only one wine drinker in the equation, or if you focus on sparkling or white, but like a high end red with food. Also, the wine develops quicker in the half bottle, so 3 years of age will look more like 5 or 6. Bordeaux is a great half bottle as its a bigger wine, demanding slow sipping and possibly a decant.
This is a stellar 6, taking in some of the biggest names and appellations in Bordeaux. From Pessac-Leognan, Chateau Martillac. Marguax is arguably the most famous Left Bank name, and Chateau le Tour de Mons and Chateau la Gurge will be familiar to many. From Medoc, Chateau Mauvesin Barton is a newish wine from the Irish Barton family. Finishing on the Right Bank, Chateau de Sales is one of Pomerols best, while Tempo d'Angelus is a new wine from the famous Chateau Angelus.
