
Mauro Veglio, Barolo
Mauro Veglio is steeped in tradition, started by his father Angelo, Mauro learnt at the
side of the legendary Elio Altare, their houses stand 10 feet apart at the end of the drive amongst the stunningly beautiful vineyards of La Morra in Barolo. In 2019, Mauro’s nephew Alessandro took over winemaking, joining his estate to the operation. Despite being the younger hand, Alessandro pushed the estate back towards old techniques, malo in steel and aged in old barrique, the wines are now expressive of the vineyard and more befitting of the fruit produced as Mauro is known as one of the most exceptional grape growers in the entire region. Veglio has quickly become a bona fide blue chip Barolo producer.
