A.R. Lenoble Rose Terroirs NV
€81,00
A wine of pretty serious power but also poise. Really robust Pinot Meunier is balanced by the racy acidity of Chouilly Chardonnay.

Lenoble’s pinot noir and meunier are too rich too stand alone as a rosé, so the house tactically calls upon the structure and fresh acid drive of its Chouilly chardonnay to take a confident lead. This release has maintained the medium copper salmon hue of when I first tasted it two years ago, though its momentary fanfare of tangelo, candied strawberry, red cherry and musk have now vaporized, making way for characterful and savoury style of creamy mouthfeel and tomato complexity over a core of wild strawberries with a hint of balsamic. Chardonnay upholds its decisive lead in grapefruit focus articulated through the discreetly handled texture of a glimpse of oak. It concludes elegant, focussed and fine, thanks to the tension and fine chalk mineral structure of Chouilly. 91 POINTS, TYSON STELZER
