Wine of the Week: Gandin

€99,00

ON THE TASTING TABLE this week we are back to Italy with these wines, specifically DOC Isonzo, the heart of Friuli. The cooling winds of the Alps create great freshness and tension in the wines with the unique geological conditions imparted by the gravelly Dolomites imbue terrific minerality. This all contributes to great elegance in the wines but also terrific up front, pure fruit and drinkability - they manage to be lean and plump at the same time!

GANDIN FILARE BIANCO
is a terrific blend of the regional specialities Tocai Fruilano and Verduzzo Friulano, with a supporting case of Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. Truly an all things to all people wine, it has buzzy energy and freshness in abundance, but enough ripeness to make it a perfect Autumnal number.

GANDIN FILARE ROSSO
is a beautiful wine made from local Refosco dal Pedumcolo Rosso, along with international Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Like the white, it will have massive broad appeal, half of the wine staying in stainless steel and half going to age in oak for a year, before coming together in bottle for 6 months.

These are all occasion wines and just perfect propositions for this time of year with masses of appeal, versatility and drinkability. With these you simply cannot go wrong. GET 6 OF EACH FOR ANOTHER 5% OFF!
