El Mozo / Rioja, Spain

€133,00

In Ireland we drink more Rioja than anywhere in the world per capita. There are now essentially 2 Rioja, traditional, which favours big fruit and warm oak, with familiar terms like Crianza, then there is modern, with hipster labels and carbonic maceration and category defining wines. These are the latter.

Rioja quite literally from another dimension. Herrigoia is made with Carbonic maceration, like in Beaujolais, Malaspiedras is more trad. with 100% Tempranillo and a lick of oak. The Cosmonauta motif across a white, orange and 2 reds signifies the mix of past (making wine like their ancestors) and future (how Rioja is going). All unique and delicious.
