It may not be the coolest grape, but it's probably the most well known. Cab. Sauv. is famous the world over for heavily structured, tannic wines, generally aged in oak.

Cabernet Sauvignon is most famous for being the main grape of Left Bank Bordeaux. Grown all over the world, it cuts a distinctly different figure in the New World where it is less likely to be blended, South Africa and North America and even the North of Italy produce hefty, but distinctly juicy and drinkable wines.
