C is for Chardonnay

ABC stands for awesome bloody Chardonnay, not anything but Chardonnay! Divisive and chameleonic, it's rich, buttery and long lived, but also capable of being fresh & lean. Chardonnay’s spiritual home is Burgundy in France. It’ll grow more or less everywhere, and in the heat will give ripe, tropically flavoured examples, in the cooler areas it will show a more steely side.



Along with the stunning Burgundy-esque P&A Chardonnay, this 6er has classic white Burgundy Bellene L'Eclos Abelles, a bio dynamic old vine number with some Aligote in the blend and Roche de Bellene Macon Village. New world examples are the Last Stand Chardonnay from down under, and Folly of the Beast and Pavette 'the Peacock' from California.
