Orange Wine

WTF is the deal with Orange Wine? Are there oranges in it? No - but don’t worry, that’s not a silly question (no silly questions in wine). Orange Wine is basically white wine made like a red. Both red and white grape juice runs clear, it is the skins that gives red wine it’s colour. Skins in white wine are whisked away immediately. In an orange wine, the juice is left in contact with the skins, resulting in an orange colour and challenging aromatics and flavours, the intensity of which depends on the winemaking, in this respect it's a bit like a Rose. These are great food wines, and are better for sipping rather than glugging. Dip the toe!.
